I wanted you to know about an upcoming ASG Atlanta educational event. I am teaching a class on Shirtmaking Techniques. It will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 4th & 5th.
Many of the techniques being taught were shown on a segment of "Sew Much More" that I taped with host Susan Khalje on the DIY network.

SWAP Knits Wardrobe- Class with ASG Atlanta

Have You had a "SEW" - cation?
I call it a "Sew"-cation because it is just that!
Sewing projects require planning as well as the time it takes to make and complete them. In today's hectic world, time is a precious commodity. Why not schedule that special sewing time with Pam Howard? She can guide you with the correct fit as well as the proper sewing techniques to make garments you'll be proud to wear.
Each "Sew"-cation is "Custom made" for your needs. Plan one, two or three days. It can be a Muslin fitting or Intermediate/Advanced garment construction - or a combination of the two.

The classes are held in my home, and information for area hotels will be given. Pamela's Closet, Inc. is located 24 miles south of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport. The hotels are one exit from the class location.

Beautifully Tailored Jackets
Here are two more pictures of the beautiful jackets made last January in the Boot Camp class.
Lorraine is wearing the stunning rust colored double faced wool jacket, and Ginny is wearing her jacket made in a beautiful shade of green...accesorized with a belt. Lots of hard work was put into these jackets, but worth every minute of it.
Ginny chose to have hand made buttonholes sewn into her jacket. They will do them for you, too, at the Alteration shop at Ansley Mall in Atlanta. Enjoy!

3 Piece Wardrobe with Knits. The dates will be Feb. 5th & 6th at the Smyrna Community Center. This event is Sold Out, but another is scheduled for October 29th & 30th of this year.

My Friend, Fred
Most of you know about the passing of Fred Bloebaum. She was well known by all of us in the
sewing world as a great teacher, pattern designer, and Fashionista Extraordinaire.
I will always remember her as a very good Friend. I met her at the Original Sewing & Quilt
Expo many years ago. She allowed me to try on one her jackets and even sent me a swatch of the fabric that the jacket was made from.
When I taught at my first Expo, I asked if she would allow me to sell her patterns there. She agreed and packed them up to ship them across the country from Oakland, CA. After the show was over, I sent the excess patterns to her for a show she was going to do in another city. She did this for me based on mutual respect and TRUST.
When she would come to Atlanta for a show, we would get together with some other wonderful
ladies to have dinner and "catch up".
A few years ago, I got the opportunity to visit my sister in Modesto. I called Fred to let her know
and she invited me to come to Oakland to spend a day fabric shopping. You all know that I was in "Heaven"!!
Of course the fabric went into my "stash", but when I found out that she was not well, I got my sewing "mojo" back. I started making garments from the fabrics purchased when we were together.
Every time I get a chance to wear those clothes, I will think of her, and miss her.
